What do you think of/have you ever RENTED college textbooks?

Ramon Dahlheimer: I've never rented a college text from an on-line source before but can't be much different from going to the bookstore and buying a used book, then turning around at the end of the semester and selling it right back to the bookstore. The only difference I can see is that it would be MUCH cheaper renting the books.Renting books out is the new, up-and-coming thing to do. Make sure you rent from a reputable person. Francis Stickle: I've never rented a college textbook, but I have borrowed books from some of my friends. If someone u know has a book that u may need for a class, ask them if u can borrow it for the semester, provided that book will be used that particular semester.

Shaunta Paap: i've never heard of this before to be honest. but it sounds like you might be better off to buy them used and sell them again... find someone who took the course you are taking! last year. if you get to know them they may sell you their books cheap. and if they are still current enough for the next year you can sell them again, in the end probably saving more money than renting.
