how does a woman from brazil get a green card?

Cortez Badolato: What is your status? How did you enter the US, and are you in status now or out-of-status, or never entered legally to begin with? There is no way to 'legalize' an illegal alien. If you entered illegally, overstayed a visa, or committed visa fraud, you have no choice but to return to your own country. Apparently, you have no immediate blood relatives who are US citizens and who earn enough to support you and who are willing & able to petition for your immigration. That leaves you with no choice but to return to your country of citizenship. Only employers can apply for a temporary employment visa; you must apply for a student visa from within your country of citizenship - neither are going to get you a green card anyway. Your child cannot sponsor you. And if you do not return to your own country and complete your 10 year bar to reentry, your child is not going to be able to petition for you after s/he turns 21 either. Of course, if you have been i! n the US illegally, even if your child can eventually petition for you - assuming you complete your 10 year bar to reentry first - it is highly unlikely your child's petition would be successful anyway. Violating immigration laws and/or visa regulations has consequences - primarily ending any chance you might once have had to immigrate legally and obtain a green card.BTW, Brazil is hot-hot-hot as a destination for American, Canadian and European immigrants. Land of opportunity. Looks like you fouled that up, too?...Show more

Charissa Riley: it seems brazilian women are experts on doing this.... I live in Switzerland and this place is FLOODED with brazilians who are illegally here looking for marriage, permits to live here and so on.find a stupid gullible american man, tell him you love him and you want to spend the rest of your life with him.... get him to marry you and once he does it, start the green card process and then divorce him.or simply wait for your son t! o turn 18 so he can request you as his mom to go to the USA le! gally....Show more

Antonette Shappy: Assuming the woman overstayed a tourist or other visa, she has no option other than marriage to a US citizen. There is no path to a green card for people who live here illegally for years while evading deportation, and that includes people who give birth while in the US. If we started handing out green cards to foreign citizens who have kids here, we'd experience a baby boom that would dwarf the post WWII generation.

Arnulfo Seegars: 1

Karl Samiec: If she has been in the US illegally then she can only get deportation certainly not a green card

Annabell Bevier: Depends on what her status is. If she is here illegally, she cannot get a green card, even through marriage, without returning to her home country.

August Hubbard: If you are not in good standing then theres no options except for you too return to Brazil. You should seek the advice of an immigration attorney to see if theres any chance.

Marque! tta Gimm: learn to suck real good on lollipops

Faustino Mellerson: There is no other way, and even that way will only work if she entered the U.S. with inspection.
