Patrick Bitsui: three loads would be the max. i am guessing
Claude Gloden: Do you actually expect an answer?
Silvia Stclair: Donât you hate those so called âTop Contributorsâ who really donât know anything, but spend all day answering questions so they can falsely claim top contributor status? Why would this lady post a question if she wasnât looking for an answer? The average residential, medium capacity, top loading washing machine is designed to handle 7 lbs. of laundry per each load*. All washers come with a manual that provides this information or you can look up the information online based on make and model of the washer. The key here is to remember 7 lbs. and donât get too caught up with what makes up the 7 lbs. (7 one pound each towels or 5 pairs of jeans). Next divide your total pounds by 7. According to two online laundry supply sites, a 30" X 40" canvas laundry bag holds 25-30 pounds of laundry. So your 30â x 40â cloth laundry! bag will hold 4 to 4.5 loads of clothing/linens. Most laundry services that operate out of laundry mats have 20 lb., 30 lbs. or 40 lbs. washers. In that event everything in your 30" X 40" canvas laundry bag can be dumped into one 20 lbs. capacity washer (as long as your bag only contains whites or darks). Itâs gets costly when you have to feed the dryer $.25 for every six to ten minutes. *Smaller capacity top loaders accommodate 6 lbs. of laundry. Large capacity top loaders accommodate 12-15 lbs. of laundry. The average residential front loading washing machine can handle 15-20 lbs of laundry and uses less water per load than a top loader.
