Vida Miss: It is really really you?? I hope so. I don't think we expect any more of footy players than we do members of the general public. And that is to behave themselves when they are out and about. Don't pee where you shouldn't pee. Don't drink to excess and hit your partner. Don't hang out with people who are of questionable character. Don't drink and then gt behind the wheel of your car. Don't drive around at 200km/hr. Don't lie to try and cover your crappy behaviour. It is not like they are not aware that wherever they go there are people watching them ready to sell stories to the media and the like. Whether they like it or not, many of them live their lives in the public eye and they have chosen to do so. They are not drafted against their will into the AFL. What I do agree on though is the way the media will beat up a story that otherwise wouldn't have legs. The recent Freo one is a classic example. Facts were not checked before some! one sat down with their little iphone and typed a story and sent it to their paper. They seemingly just go off half ****** and never have to say "oops, sorry. got that a bit wrong!!". But, unfortunately, these types of stories are what sells papers. I think the awful Sam Newman is another classic example. He allegedly does heaps of great work that no one ever knows about. but as soon as he steps out of line even a little bit: POW it's news!! And i love that Charles Barkley thing too! I am not a believer in the sports person role model crap and that little sentance sums it up perfectly....Show more
