Shon Almquist: As far as I know there aren't any prerequisites for school before Kindergarten ? Though your state could be different. Many people keep their kids home up until Kindergarten in my area (VA) so I don't know anything about public school requirements for K. In fact, in that case they'd want to get your child into school as soon as possible. Some private schools have stricter standards.
Lucille Saetteurn: There is a difference between childcare and preschool. And there are no requirements for kindergarten. Why don't you observe both of the programs and see which one better fits your-and your child's-needs? That way you can make an educated choice. You should know that to be eligible for Headstart, there are usually specific requirements that need to be met. it is specifically for preschoolers who need a "head start"....Show more
