Lupe Sancen: Because the public schools are losing there right to teach religion and some cant afford private christian schools.
Coralie Goldsberry: pure indoctrination and brain washing if they realize thats what they are doing or not
Booker Warlick: They want to be able to indoctrinate their kids in their own bigoted way of life without outside interference. It's the open door to a new Dark Age.
Hwa Waterford: Unfortunate this Q was under an example of the worse outcomes to Home schooling (the anti-women preaching twit) [Later: not surprised his put his cut & pasted rants here]On a Serious note - many parents who do take this path seriously, honestly, genuinely beleive they are protecting their children from evil influences. Instead of training them to be responsible functional Adults.....Show more
Elvin Weichbrodt: it is also concerning the undesirable impacts youthful children and youths flow by technique of. homestead-schooled youthful childre! n are nevertheless held to an similar specs as publicly proficient youthful children, they nevertheless might want to take the standardized exams and stuff, and far of particularly do fairly extremely larger than publicly schooled youthful children. i change into homeschooled for a pair of years and that i change into once fairly extremely ahead of the different scholars after I did start up going to public education. There are also themes of violence, drugs, and sex that mom and pa pick to maintain their children far flung from. it truly is now not merely attempting to lead away from being taught evolution. it truly is under no circumstances the incentive besides. colleges can practice children what to comprehend, in spite of the undeniable fact that they could't tell them what to assume. I comprehend the information of evolution, i chanced on about it in intense college and employer, and that i responded the questions about it wisely on my exams, in spite of the undeniabl! e fact that that merely mindset I realize the conception, not ! that i have self belief it....Show more
Lauri Ohl: Because they don't want their kids to have a real education
Forest Duttinger: For many reasons:None which I particularly agree with, but knowing several home schooled children and their parents, this doesn't stop me from listing their reasons:1) They feel they can do a better job. 2) They are fearful of the violence and sexual abuse cases they hear about in schools3) They know that Home Schooled children continually exceed academic performance measures compared to Publicly or even Privately schooled children. 4) They are fearful of the morals and influences their children will be exposed to at Public School5) Some feel that the government shouldn't teach our children.. it should be Parent's responsibility, a very old fashioned notion. These are broad reasons. The actual arguments for and against are more detailed and varied, but they all fall into these basic categories. Many home schoolers feel that once their c! hildren are out of high school, they'll be more mature and be able to better handle social pressures and influences. Many are part of communities or churches which strongly favor home schooling. Many feel it brings the family closer and increases self esteem because the children are loved and nurtured more, and parents are more involved in the education process. Many see it as a way to teach self reliance, and a more enriched environment, since they can take their kid on field trips, include life lessons, and incorporate their morals and religious beliefs into the teachings. Something Public Schools can't do either because of money OR because they can't favor any one view or group. Many of the parents encourage their children to go beyond what the book teaches and study whatever they are interested in, even if that means moving ahead several grade levels in one subject, like math or science. Public schools can't allow 1 child to move ahead in 1 subject while everyone else is! n't.__________________________________I'm not saying I agree, just rei! terating their arguments based on what I've heard. Personally, I think that while on a small scale, for the dedicated few.. it works great.. but it isn't something we can do on a large scale. Also, I know those who are home schooled sometimes have issues socially and handling peer pressure later on. In the end I favor a hybrid approach. Parents who are active in their children's education, taking them on Field Trips of their own.. discussing what's happening at school and using anything and everything that happens, as lessons about morals, ethics and beliefs. Basically, going to a Private or Public school, but still being FULLY engaged in your child's education as a parent....Show more
Bo Perham: They want to shelter them from non Christian people and ideas.
Matt Gerdeman: because for some reason they want control/Btw, i am a christian
Melissa Lavallie: The reasons vary. Some do it because they can give their children a better education, some because the ! education system in their area really bites, some do it because their children have had behavioral or physical problems in public school. Some do it because they live in a crime-ridden area.Home schooling is NOT what it used to be ... there are organizations to help the parents give the kids a good education, classes and labs the kids can take at a local school, "after school" organizations for sports, etc. Here in Texas there's a school for home-schoolers lol. The kids can take different classes and do certain projects together, the parents can pay a professor from a local college to come teach a class or two and the cost is minimal....Show more
