Chi Alfero: Sorry, not enough details. Tags etc is state dependent. Cost a lot in Conn and not much in AZ. Insurance is dependent upon getting on your family policy or not. If you can get on the family policy call them for a quote. Gas depends on how much you drive---figure max 20mpg from that vehicle. Car repairs is easier---figure $100/mo set aside for repairs until you have $1000 cash available and keep that handy for the big repair that will eventually happen.
Sylvie Snetting: $2000 should buy a good used ride, but SUV? No sure. Might cost a little more. Don't forget about registration and insurance, which will be more for an SUV.
