Ofelia Kieck: good one emmgee. heres my advice. craigslist is the first thing that comes to mind. sometimes you find good deals on there. then there's ebay obviously. you might find a solid deal there. i'm not crazy about going to used car lots. they're trying to make a profit obviously. but if you hit up the right car lot you can find a good deal. and then buying a car from someone who's selling theirs, people always want to get the most money they can for their cars. unless you can find someone selling their car, and you offer them cash but like $1000 or even $2000 lower than what they're asking. sometimes people will just take the cash that's! in front of them. but for some reason people sometimes post better de! als online than in person. and then you can always get a repossessed car. i've read the way to get these really cheap before they hit the auction is to simply hit up the banks and ask about any cars they have because repossessed cars usually come from banks. once a car is repoed, i think the bank that issued the loan out on that car owns that car again. and then there's the option of buying what are called program cars, or rental cars. the cars you see at enterprise, hertz, etc. they usually only keep these cars for about 20,000 miles or so and then give them back to the dealerships. but you can ask the rental companies if they have any cars for sale. this way, you get a newer car that's been maintained. i mean, sure some people who rent these cars don't care about them and drive them like they stole them, but still, these cars are generally very well-maintained....Show more
